I expected the event to be a horrific, screaming bloodbath. But to my surprise, apart from a few half-hearted attempts at escape, some less-than-impressed yowling and a minor cut on one of my fingers, things were fairly smooth.

Sheri and Robin, friends of Zoe’s and mine, were selfless enough to give up part of their Saturday afternoon to come over and help me out. I am extremely grateful to both of them. I couldn’t have done it alone.

We didn’t document the proceedings as much as I had hoped to but Robin still caught some of the action on Sheri’s Blackberry.

You can see in the pics that both Sheri and I are wearing hand- (and in her case, arm-) protection. As a result, the only wound sustained during Catageddon was a small cut on my right pointer finger, little more than a papercut.

After all the build-up, preparation and anticipation, it was kind of disappointing not to see any fleas come off either Zen or Koda. But we all agreed, for the cats’ sake, that it was good that they were clear of infestation.

I used the afternoon, as the cats painstakingly dried themselves, to set off a flea bomb in both the bedroom and bathroom of the Casa. Tonight I’m locking the cats in the bedroom with me (what a treat for them!) and setting one off in the lounge room and one in the kitchen/dining area. By tomorrow, the flea problem (if you can really call it that) should be licked.

And that’s really all there is to tell. We’re all happy, healthy, whole and flea-free. Just in time to welcome Zoe home again.

Things have been ticking over like clockwork here at the Casa, so I’ve not had, and still don’t have, anything of note to post.

But I have snapped a couple of pics of the cats recently and bowing to pressure from avid readers, I decided to post them here and do a mini-Caturday.
